This chair gives a good massage. I have back issues and always felt I would benefit from regular massages and so far so good. I researched many chairs and based on everything I can find, these massage chairs appear to all be very similar with the same pros and cons. Each model has a few more or a few less features based on the price (and yes, I believe they are all ridiculously overpriced/marked-up).
Overall, I am happy with this chair. Now, I do a good amount of complaining below, but it is mainly so you know what you are getting. Honestly, I felt this was a risk because I really didn't know what I was getting. I bought it on Home Depot because of the financing on the HD card and since I could go to the local store and demand they return it if things went bad. Now I feel better that is seems like good quality.
This chair often goes on sale for 50% off ($3000). At that price, it seemed to be the best deal for the most features I wanted, mainly the SL track, 3D, many presets, calf rollers (seems rare) and an automatic extending footrest that appeared to be tall enough for average height people.
I am 5'9" and I feel like if I were taller, the footrest may not extend enough. I would say 5'11" is the max height that would be comfortable. Maybe 6 feet tall, but I would worry that your legs would be too bent to feel the calf rollers. Tough to say.
Like other massage chair reviews I've seen, this chair can be a little hard, especially on the feet (squeezing tight) and the lower back (hitting bones). I am using a folded blanket over it on my lower back when I am feeling sensitive there (I should probably take a break from massages until my body recovers!). My upper back is where most of my pain is and it is amazing there along with the heating option. I may buy a chair pad to put in it to dull the massage sometimes, but also to use it as a recliner. It is OK to lay in a little as a regular chair, but it is hard if you plan to stay a while and watch a lot of TV.
The foot rollers don't really hit your heel unfortunately. You could turn off the air cells on the feet, which do allow you to slide your foot up and put your heel on the rollers.
The calf rollers don't hit perfectly all the time, but I am still glad I chose this model with them. I feel them more on certain massage modes than others.
The air massage cells inflate well and apply good pressure. I wish there was something that hit your biceps somehow, but that seems to be missing on all chairs. I guess you can buy one of those hand massager for that.
For these prices though, I am disappointed that none of these chairs seem to connect to the Internet to allow for updates. The remote control is really cheap and the software is very basic. I may try to find a way to order a backup remote because if that cheap thing breaks, the whole chair will be useless.
As other chair reviews have said, the beeping from the remote control can be annoying, especially at night if others are sleeping. I may have to do the hack I saw and open the remote to tear out the speaker, but again, probably only if I get my hands on a backup remote first.
I wish you could start a manual massage immediately, but first you have to pick a preset and then navigate to various menus to start turning things off. The good news is, there are some memory slots where you can save up to 5 of your own presets. It offers family member names, like Dad, Mom, Sister and Brother if you want to label them. So, I guess that is how they expect you to start your favorite manual massage.
Although you have to jump around a lot of menus, there are many options. You can adjust the air pressure, back massage speed/pressure, turn on/off the upper body air cells or lower body air cells and calf kneading/rolling.
The voice control barely works, but occasionally it may be handy to switch massage modes without the remote.
The 3D knob is good for quick adjustments when the massage rollers are starting to feel too intense. The same adjustments can be made on the remote control too (as mentioned above).
The wireless charger supports fast charging.
The LEDs on the side of the chair are a bit bright, but they are mostly downward facing until you recline. If you put it near the wall and in between another couch, you won't see them as much.
It is a beast and you will need 2 people to bring it inside. Maybe 3. If you have a big driveway, consider ordering a dolly or hand truck to help wheel it closer. It comes in 2 boxes. The main chair/footrest and the armrests in a separate box. The armrests' box was more manageable.
There is a warranty and I used it already. There is a tightening screw that keeps the remote plugged in (not really unnecessary) and it was bent/cracked and they shipped me a replacement immediately after e-mailing [****]. So that makes me feel better that the response was quick.
If you have the space and money, go for it. Otherwise, consider some of those "cheaper"...
